| VOLUNTEERING WITH VDO
|
In the past ten years VDO has helped more than 30 rural schools and communities in the Ecuadorian Andes with around 200 volunteers from five continents.
VDO offers short-term volunteer opportunities on a low cost basis and through an easy and fast application process. VDO volunteers have the opportunity to serve poor communities in a developing country while improving their Spanish abilities and getting to know the country and its culture.
Volunteers have the opportunity to immerse in the true life of the comunnities working in the social, education and culture areas.
But VDO is not a simple volunteer program. During the volunteer time volunteers receive permanent assistance from VDO founders and are invited to share our normal life and to feel as in family. After the program former volunteers are invited to continue in contact receiving news from the projects and helping in the continuation of the programs. Many former volunteers has returned one or twice to visit us.

If you can not come to volunteer with us in Ecuador there are several ways in wich you can help to make possible VDO projects.

To post ads in the Craigslist of your city and reply to them
To put us in contact with organisations or agencies that can give small donations for our programmes
To put us in contact with the volunteers agency of your place
To buy our Christmas card every year
To buy our Magazine
To buy the products made by the local people from our projects
To recommend us to your friends or relatives travelling in South America
To make a Challenge or organize an event in benefit of our projects
