Misahualli, Tena, Ecuador.

| To celebrate Christmas, children from the school "La Gran Muralla" in Techo Propio, Ambato were invited by Happy Gringo to Misahualli. Fifty-two children attended the trip accompanied by their parents. It took two buses. We left Techo Propio at 4 am and returned the same day at 11 pm. The activities undertaken were: visiting children in school "Republica de Colombia" in Puerto Mishaulli, where we were greeted by children who did a dance typical of the region. The children were given a sleeve with candy as a gift. Then we played three games of football. The winners were: Misahualli school (in the boys category) and Techo Propio (in the mothers category). The girls category ended in a tie. After the football games we took the lunch in the town. In the afternoon we split into groups; some took a boat ride on the Napo river, others went to visit the Botanical Garden, and the others bathed in river. On the way back we visited Tena and stopped in Baņos for dinner.
The children and parents of Techo Propio school and Misahulli school wish to thank Happygringo for this fantastic event.

Dance performed by children from Misahualli was typical of the eastern region of Ecuador, something completely new for the children of the region of the Sierra. Children's costumes are made from straw, seeds, feathers and animal bones and plant materials from the jungle. |
